Fortune 1000 Companies are Slow to Adopt Blogging
June 1, 2006
A recent study by Harris Interactive showed many fortune 1000 companies were slow to adopt blogging. Over 60% felt blogs didn't play a significant role as a communications medium and over 70% didn't feel they were an important branding tool. Less than 1% felt blogs had any credibility as sales an lead generation tool.
This presents an excellent opportunity for many small and medium sized businesses to grab an early foot hold in the blog world while the big corporations wait on the sidelines. According to Dave Sifry of Technorati the number of blogs is doubling every 5 to 6 months with no signs of leveling off.
